Electrical Design Senior Engineer

Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Typical duties: Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data. Conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. May also review vendor capability to support development. Includes electrical/electronic design subspecialties not included in designated engineering job families. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel. The job entails working on disk drive test development. The candidate will work directly on writing test process code and is responsible for the daily operation and testing of disk drives in Shrewsbury, MA. The candidate will work with the manager and other teams across sites to develop test process changes.

Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering. - Must know how to program in Python and C languages. - Proficient with Microsoft office tools and products (at least Excel/Access proficiency for usage with data analysis).- Must possess at least 5 years in test process development and feature integration.- Familiar with data analysis tools such as JMP.- Must know how to read schematics and is familiar with disk drive electronics and operation.- Needs to be a leader and able to contribute in the area of test process development for disk drives.- Should be able to perform failure analysis on disk drives and use, or learn how to use, equipment to capture BUS traces and oscilloscope signal captures.
