A&E Television Networks is seeking an Encoder within the Quality Control/VOD department to support the encoding of Cable Labs Compliant media assets which will in turn be distributed into our Cable System Affiliate partners such as Comcast, Cablevision, Time Warner and others.

This is a project based, 40 hour per week position working out of the Stamford, CT location.


Required Experience:
REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of the AnyStream Agility encoding environment a plus.
- Generate transmission planners as necessary for each client (TVN, Comcast, etc.)
- Coordinate generation, updating of tape logs for each monthly workload
- Manage archival records for tracking and archival purposes/re-use
- Work with AETN engineers to resolve any technical issues as necessary
- Manage trafficking of commercials, opens & closes, etc., as assigned/as needed
- Manage AETN VOD commitments to ensure that metadata is properly created for each client
- Coordinate and confirm delivery of materials to Client, and troubleshoot as necessary
- Participate and contribute in all VOD related conference calls, meetings and process discussions
- Attend QC department meetings and follow all procedures as assigned
- Communicate with library, captioning and producers re: specific program status as required
- Monitor incoming emails and facilitate requests in a timely fashion and with zero errors
- Coordinate and manage programs as assigned by QC Dept. or VOD Administrator or as needed
- Encode, wrap and send programs in the absence of the VOD Technician or as necessary Knowledge of various digital video formats & and encoding techniques required. Candidate should be familiar with the following video editing, graphic design & encoding systems & software
- Transmit FTP, Microsoft Outlook & Microsoft Office experience also required.
- Knowledge of file transfer protocols such as FTP required. High Speed File Transfer experience such as Aspera a plus. * Experience with Content Management, Digital Asset Management and/or Media Publishing systems a plus. * Familiar with standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the Television and Interactive fields. * Knowledge of A&E, BIO, and History programming a plus.


Required Education:
QUALIFICATIONS * 4 years College/degree preferred.
