THE ROLE:

AMD seeks a passionate, collaborative leader with strong technical skills and the initiative to motivate an expert team. You will manage CPU Performance group and innovate with internal teams and external partners to drive the next generation of Zen microprocessors.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate has experience leading others in technical and managerial settings. You also have excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a team of performance engineers to achieve project goals
  • Drive project goals and dependencies with architects, RTL, and software teams
  • Enabling and enhancing performance tools, methodology and flows
  • Technical leadership to drive execution on modeling, analysis, pre-silicon and post-silicon correlation
  • Lead team, meet schedule commitments and provide strong support to customers
  • Collaborate with multi-functional leaders to drive AMD's success

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A strong leader with experience working with a distributed team
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills
  • Proven experience managing and leading engineering teams
  • Prior experience in optimizing performance (client, server, system, or embedded)
  • Strong system and software engineering background
  • Strong communications skills. Able to summarize complex problems for executives as well as drill down to details with architects and engineers
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze current behavior, identify potential areas for improvement and design of experiments
  • C++ programming and scripting language expertise
  • Deep understanding of computer architecture, underlying CPU software, including operating systems, compilers, and applications
  • Pre and/or Post-silicon performance correlation, analysis and validation

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Masters degree or PhD in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
