The Senior Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in New York, NY will be responsible for new feature development for Drupal content management system (CMS). Extend Drupal 9 CMS working closely with engineering team. Build upon existing web services consumed by multiple teams for content consumption and views of content. Front-end development using JavaScript, React, Vue.js, html, and related browser technologies. Develop specific front-end pieces using a modern front-end stack with headless architecture. Identify UI/UX patterns used across internal web properties and maintain these composable pieces. Provide system-wide documentation and integration testing of content systems. Build enhancements to AWS infrastructure, enhancements to CI/CD content creation process, and updates to documentation, testing, and logging. Work with partner teams including marketing and design organization to help create seamless end-to-end experience. Provide support to stakeholders and work with product teams to troubleshoot usage problems or shape feature requirements. Participate in software team activities including agile ceremonies, daily standup, sprint planning, backlog review, retroactive, and cross-team scrums. Perform code reviews for team members. Provide mentorship or assistance to junior team members. Telecommuting permitted 3 days per week. Salary $133,872- $213,850 per year.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field plus 5 years of experience as a software developer or related occupation. Experience must include 3 years with each of the following: (1) Content Management systems (CMS) and PHP; (2) Drupal 8+ including configuration, the Drupal API, and custom module development; (3) configuring and using a Content Management System and static site generator with headless concept; (4) Vue and React; (5) CSS paradigms and front-end CSS frameworks; (6) relational databases; (7) CI/CD and build tools including Docker and Kubernetes; and (8) developing solutions using agile methods.
