Job Description

Position Description:

The Architectural Designer, operating within BOND Building's Integrated Design team, is responsible for the execution and delivery of architectural design services in support of BOND Building's ever-expanding design build portfolio. This position works closely with the Integrated Design leadership, scheduling, estimating, and project operations staff for the generation of construction documentation, specifications, and 3D models for use in construction. The Designer will also support active construction projects during Construction Administration through field reports, submittal review, and shop drawing review. This position will work across a wide range of project typologies including academic, healthcare, life sciences, and corporate interiors. The Architectural Designer reports directly to the Architectural Design Manager/Architectural Practice Leader.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills in a client-facing environment.
  • Generate existing conditions 3D models from existing documentation and point clouds.
  • Create conceptual drawings, programming, and fit plans as basis of design for renovation projects.
  • Develop construction documentation, specifications, and 3D design models for use in construction.
  • Provide field and office support for construction administration through field reports and submission of shop drawing reviews.
  • Develop presentations, renderings, and diagrams for design intent and client visualization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in Architecture
  • Professional design firm experience ranging from 1 to 5 years of service.
  • Experience in Healthcare facility design and renovation is beneficial.
  • LEED accreditation is beneficial.
  • Understanding of architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings as well as understanding of BIM and 3D modelling.

  • Knowledge of space planning, compiling construction documents, design production, and construction administration.
  • Strong design and graphic skills
  • Applicants are expected to demonstrate proficient knowledge in the following software and programs:
    • Autodesk AutoCAD
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in the following software is preferred, but not required:
    • Lumion
    • Enscape
    • Twinmotion
    • Rhino/Grasshopper
    • Sketchup
    • Dynamo
