The Project Manager manages a small project or phase(s) of a larger project. The Project Manager serves as in-house project consultant to the administrative and clinical leadership of the Hospitals. Facilitates and coordinates analytical support to operational and clinical resource analysis and benchmarking initiatives and advises on issues related to process improvement and cost management.

The Administrative Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing a small project or phase(s) of a larger project, initiating/planning through executing and delivering the contract, concluding with project transition and closure, ensuring a successful project.
  • Consulting with organizational stakeholders.
  • Identifying and using appropriate project management tools and concepts (scope management, planning, budget management, risk/issue management, communications management).
  • Developing and executing work plans. Setting priorities for tasks based on importance and urgency.
  • Delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Creating work products and project deliverables independently.
  • Understanding and meeting expectations for deliverable quality and timeliness.
  • Conducting and/or supporting complex qualitative and quantitative analysis of project data, summarizing findings, drawing appropriate conclusions, and effectively communicating results to the team.
  • Managing and directing regulatory/reporting activities related to projects (e.g., IRB, updates/reports to funding agencies, etc.).
  • Managing communication to and relationships with key project stakeholders (internal and external) and institution-wide.
  • Composing, editing, and delivering written and verbal communications.
  • Facilitating group discussions. Keeping team members appropriately informed.
  • Supporting research and project management for Divisional or Institutional projects across all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Developing tools and processes and providing ongoing support.
To qualify you must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Healthcare Management, Science, Business Administration or related field is required
  • Project Management Professional Certification or other relevant certification is preferred
  • Three years relevant experience is required
  • One year experience managing multiple highly complex projects is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of PC-based software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and manual and web-based applications for collecting/ reporting data
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple demands and projects and/or proposals simultaneously within assigned department/division and to persuade and negotiate with peer level department heads and/or with external agencies/facilities on issues and programs that impact assigned department as well as several other large departments/divisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement and/or process improvement activities. For research efforts, ability to lead and conduct basic secondary research (e.g., literature reviews) and advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis.
