Job Description

Keros Therapeutics is a public, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel treatments for patients suffering from hematological and musculoskeletal disorders with high unmet medical need. We are a leader in understanding the role of the transforming growth factor-beta, or TGF-, family of proteins, which are master regulators of red blood cell and platelet production as well as of the growth, repair and maintenance of muscle and bone. We have leveraged this understanding and developed a discovery approach to generate large and small molecules to address diseases of these tissues. Targeting TGF- signaling pathways has been clinically proven to elicit robust changes in blood cells, muscle, and bone, which we believe provides a precedent and strong rationale for our strategy.

This role is responsible for experiment execution in downstream biologics process development. This will include equipment setup, maintenance, processing, and data acquisition in a laboratory setting. Technical report authoring and lab notebook recordkeeping are also critical to this role. A successful candidate will exhibit strong interpersonal skills, technical competence, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Scale-down and range finding study execution.
  • Purification by FPLC of Pilot scale batches.
  • Implementation of multiple liquid chromatography types (i.e Affinity, Ion Exchange, HIC)
  • Buffer formulation, resin selection and capacity study execution.
  • Filter loading and fouling study execution.
  • Intermediate stability analysis.
  • Formulation and stability study support.
  • Protein characterization by A280, SEC, SDS-PAGE and cIEF.
  • Statistical data analysis.
  • Equipment setup, functional verification and maintenance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, molecular biology or related program.
  • Familiar with protein biochemistry
  • Familiar with general biology lab techniques
  • Familiar with statistical analysis and experimental design
  • Technical and scientific writing and presentation skills
