- Safe operation of a loader.
- Responsible for daily inspection of equipment and maintenance as needed to ensure the safe working condition of the loader.
- Read and understand various types of load charts.
- Load and unload materials/products from incoming and outgoing trucks.
- Mark new materials and put them in designated areas.
- Pull material required for jobs and stage in designated areas.
- Load the fabrication machinery with materials that need to be cut and processed in the shop.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a loader operator.
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of a variety of heavy construction vehicles and equipment.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of routine and preventative maintenance of heavy construction vehicles and equipment.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures of documentation and record-keeping including operator's books.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Knowledge of safe load securing practices/rigging experience is a plus.
- Understanding of hand signals.
- CDL license is a plus.
